Mumbai: Asin has carved a really special place in Hindi cinema with her brilliant acting skills and comedy expertise. Down south, she is already an established actress and in Bollywood she has now started enjoying the real stardom after receiving the hits at the box office. Her recent release ‘Housefull 2’ appeared to be a super successful movie which crossed the mark of Rs. 100 crore at the box office.
Asin’s Bollywood career had started off with the blockbuster movie ‘Ghajini’ and since then, she has been enjoying fame in Hindi film industry. Although Hosuefull 2 turned out to be superhit with more than 100 crore business, but the movie did not boost Asin’s career since the film was made for pure entertainment and there was not any meaty roles for the actresses to impress the critics and the filmdom.
Asin admits that Hosuefull 2 was merely for the audiences’ entertainment. Talking about the comedy films she did, she says that it can be called a coincidence that she was mostly offered the comedies in Bollywood.
She is working currently in Akshay Kumar’s production ‘Khilaadi 786’. The first schedule of the shooting has been wrapped up. Asin says it is really fabulous to work with Akshay Kumar as he is a brilliant costar. She enjoyed working opposite him in Housefull 2 also. Akshay is much impressed by Asin that he dropped Nargis Fakhri to take her on board.
When asked why she is not considering south films whereas she is an established actress over there, she responds that down south she is not being offered good script and she does not want to repeat what she has done previously. Asin’s utter focus is now on Bollywood since it is far big market than south. Bollywood makes the stars internationally famed. Asin’s next is Bol Bachchan, which is due to release.
