Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan to carry Olympics torch

Mumbai: Olympics games are all set to begin now. The entire world has focused its eyes on the giant sports event which is geared up to open for the utter entertainment of the sports fans. The fiesta is being awaited largely and with curious eyes. Olympics torch is now going to move on today i.e. 26th July. It will visit the iconic landmarks of the city ‘London’ and the esteemed torchbearers would be there to do the honor. One of the torchbearers is none other than Bollywood legend the mega star Amitabh Bachchan, who has specially been invited to carry the torch.

Bachchan has undoubtedly been the face of the Hindi cinema and India’s rich cultural legacy for more than four decades. He has been invited by the authorities to be the part of the London Olympics 2012. Mr. Bachchan will reportedly be carrying the torch in Southwark today. The relay, which is 32.7 miles, has many legendary personalities of the world who are from all walks of life. They all will be carrying this prestigious torch of Olympics. The prominent names of these dignitaries include Lewis Moody, Jim Anderson, Lawrence Dallaglio, Phil Packer, Tom Davis and Darren Fitzpatrick.

It is without any doubt is the big honor for India and the Indians that Amitabh Bachchan has been invited over the London Olympics event to carry the torch. As per reports, Karan Johar, the leading filmmaker of Bollywood, too has been invited by the Olympics authorities to be the part of the opening ceremony and he has reportedly arrived in London. Reports have it that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will also be the part of the opening ceremony since he was also invited by the UK government.  Thus in total, it is the biggest honor for the Indians seeing their three giant personalities at Olympics.
