Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently addressed the Indian-American community at a packed NSG stadium alongside US President Donald Trump, at an event organised by the non-profit Texas India Forum. In front of over 50,000 people, he discussed the thriving partnership between India and US, among other subjects. As 'Howdy Modi' took over the internet, Bollywood celebrities also took to Twitter to laud Modi's impressive speech and his efforts strengthen the relationship between two countries.

Modi was prompt to respond to them, and thanked them individually for the support. 'Knowing that the people bless me and trust me is the biggest confidence-booster ever,' he wrote, responding to lyricist and CBFC chief Prasoon Joshi.

Karan Johar also tweeted to the PM, calling his speech inspiring and solid. 'As a representative of 130 crore Indians, the respect and love that I get is dedicated to the nation,' Modi wrote in response.

'Rishi Ji, thanks for your enthusiastic encouragement. We just missed each other by a few days since you recently left for India from the USA. I pray for your good health,' Modi wrote to Rishi Kapoor. Kapoor was in the states for close to a year owing to his cancer treatments but is now back home.
