After the success of Mission Mangal, Vidya Balan is all set for another interesting role starring as Shakuntala Devi in the upcoming biopic. The film brings to life the legendary and inspiring story of Shakuntala Devi popularly known as ‘The Human Computer’. In September, it was reported that Dangal actress Sanya Malhotra was roped in to play Vidya Balan’s daughter in the film.
Sanya Malhotra will be essaying the pivotal role of Anupama Banerji, daughter of Shakuntala Devi and she is very excited to be sharing the screen space opposite Vidya Balan for the first time. The two of them, on Tuesday, were seen bonding over their lines as they were having a reading session. Sanya shared a couple of candid moments with a caption that read, “Super super excited about this one ♥.”

Earlier, Sanya said, “I am very excited to play the iconic Shakuntala Devi’s daughter – Anupama Banerji. Everyone knows the achievements of the math genius Shakuntala Devi. I’m thrilled to bring onscreen this dynamic mother-daughter relationship and equally thrilled to work with Vidya Balan. Also looking forward to my first association with Sony Pictures Networks Productions and Vikram Malhotra.”
Anu Menon and Nayanika Mahtani have written the screenplay and Ishita Moitra is the dialogue writer of the film. Directed by Anu Menon, Shakuntala Devi – Human Computer is a tale of the human mind and human relationships and will see a worldwide release in the summer of 2020.
