Mumbai: Bollywood’s famous singer Asha Bhosle’s daughter Varsha Bhosle committed suicide earlier today. The reports have it that Varsha shot her in the head. Varsha, 56, as per the reports, committed suicide at her apartment situated at Peddar Road in Mumbai.
Investigations will follow once the post mortem is done. Still it has not been revealed or identified from where Varsha obtained the gun which she used for committing the suicide. The post mortem will be done at JJ Hospital. Asha’s daughter was a political columnist for the famed web portal reddiff.com and has also done some playback singing in few Hindi and Marathi films. She also made some appearances with her mother at some concerts. She was married to a sports journalist Hemant Kenkre but later both divorced each other.
As per the reports, Varsha was pronounced dead by the time she was taken to the nearby hospital. The place where she committed suicide, Asha Bhosle’s sister Lata Mangeshkar also resides there and this apartment belongs to Asha Bhosle. It is called Prabhu Kunj.
Sources reveal that Varsha Bhosle tried to commit suicide four years back in 2008 when she consumed sleeping pills. She was rushed to the hospital and she survived. But this time around, she could not survive as she shot herself in the head. The sources say she was much depressed since long time.
The body of Varsha will soon be taken to the hospital for the autopsy. Police are investigating the matter but once the examination report comes up, the deep investigation will follow.
