The long wait for Son of Sardar is over today, as the film releases in theaters all over India and abroad. The movie has been well in news and limelight due to Ajay Devgn’s getup, the song ‘Po’ and the music of the film album. As these days rather for last few years in particular, Hindi cinema has been remaking the movies on south superhits, Son of Sardar too is the remake of the Telgu hit, MARYADA RAMANNA, made by S.S. Rajamouli. The film’s look too displays that the subject of the movie has been remade from south, as usually the Hindi remakes of the south films do.

The movie has all ingredients to entertain the audiences – fun, jokes, humor, action, emotions and drama. It is a complete masala entertainer. The narrative has been dashed off with super care and brilliance and it shows on the celluloid. Ashwin Dhir executes the script on the silver screen with class and expertise. The moviegoers never ever loss the attention even for a minute on screen. Son of Sardar is a pure attention-grabbing fiesta, which must not be missed at all.

In London, Ajay Devgn works for his friend (Salman) and his uncle. When he receives a notification from his hometown in Punjab that he is going to inherit a piece of land, he packs the baggage to land in Punjab. In Punjab, he stumbles upon Sonakshi Sinha in a train. Both the lovers are unaware of the fact that their respective families have a long stand dispute over a murder.

Sonakshi Sinha is the niece of Sanjay Dutt whose brother got murdered by the father of Ajay Devgn years back. Sanjay Dutt and his nieces (Mukul Dev and Vindu Dara Singh) now want to kill Ajay, but he lands into their home as a guest. Since as per the tradition, they treat their guests like a God, they cannot do that.

As mentioned earlier, the story is gripping and holds the attention of the viewers. The script is simply marvelous and classy in every sense of the word – all thanks to Robit Bhatt and director Ashwin Dhir for this brilliant job. AshwinDhir, as a director, attracts the cinegoers with the stupendous execution.  Cinematography by Aseem Bajaj is a work of art. Action by Jai Singh Nijjar is luminous. Music is magical. The tracks like Po Po, Bichdan and Rani Tu Main Raja are real crowd puller in theaters and glide on the ears also.

Ajay Devgn impresses with his tremendous and brilliant acting job. He is a class in himself. Sanjay Dutt loots the scene with his character.Sonakshi Sinha, though is the leading lady of the movie, does not get much scope to deliver the goods but she attracts with her part. Juhi Chawla is impressive. Salman Khan in a song and a fight scene allures the souls. Rest of the cast goes well with the roles.

Final Verdict by the Film Critic:

In a capsule, Son of Sardar is a big masala entertainer, which is a MUST WATCH! Enjoy this Diwali bonanza.
