Kangana Ranaut has also had war of words with Shiv Sena leaders including Sanjay Raut. Addressing the press about the tiff between Kangana Ranaut and Shiv Sena leaders, Matondkar declined to speak about it.

“I think much has been spoken on Kangana. No need to give her that much importance now. Everybody has the right and freedom to criticize; she is free to do it. I wish to clear this today that I never responded to her in my interview [earlier],” she said.

Urmila Matondkar had quit the Congress party after contesting the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The actress said that she was impressed by the work undertaken by Uddhav Thackeray and his government. She was inducted by Thackeray's wife Rashmi at a ceremony held at the CM's residence in Mumbai. The event was attended by Thackeray and other senior leaders like Subhash Desai, Anil Desai, Aadesh Bandekar, among others.
