The latest event to which she has given her name to is 'Pinkathon 2012', for which she will be flagging-off the run scheduled to take place on December 16. For starters, 'Pinkathon 2012' is a women's run associated with the Women's Cancer Initiative to raise awareness about breast cancer, being conducted for the first time in Mumbai in 3 categories – 10 km, 5 km and 3 km.
Speaking about the event, Karisma said "I think it is very important for women to know about breast cancer, that if detected early it's extremely curable and there is a life beyond that. As a woman, I am really proud of being a part of this initiative and I hope to see all women out there on the 16th."
The good news is that for the event, more than 1500 women of Mumbai have already registered and confirmed to run to raise funds for breast cancer patients, and known names like Anusha Dandekar, Tara Sharma and Lisa Haydon have pledged to be a part of the run.
