India is a young country and one of the primary drivers of a young nation is education. The Right to Education is an integral part of the Indian Constitution and every child in our country has an equal right to receive adequate schooling.
One of India's enigmatic icons Kajol was seen on NDTV's LIVE Telethon on Sunday, February 3; she was joined by master-blaster Sachin Tendulkar and NDTV's Executive Director & CEO Vikram Chandra to raise awareness and funds for this campaign. The actor spoke in detail on how education is the basic right of every child and they should not be deprived of the same. Ajay Devgn too joined the telethon via telephone. He was heard emphasizing on the point that solution to any problem is Education which should be given to every child from their nascent years.
Like every year, this year too Ajay and Kajol were lending their support to this noble cause. Last year the actor had donated an enormous amount of Rs. 10 Lakhs to help and transform the lives of many children who are deprived of the right to education and even supported two schools.
Being parents themselves, this cause is very close to them and they wanted to help these children in their own small way. Ajay went on to say, "Every child has a right to education and Kajol and I believe in supporting this cause with our best efforts. Not only society, but citizens as individuals have to also do their part to make sure that children are not deprived of their fundamental right. As public faces, it should be our endeavour to do whatever we can to help spread the awareness for this noble cause."
Before the 'Support My School Campaign', the powerful couple have also lent their support and been brand ambassadors for 'Save The Girl Child' Campaign which has been backed by the Maharashtra Government.
