While the superstar is accumulating all the accolades coming his way for his 'demonstration' of being an actor, the film's success at the box office has also extended his winning run. For an actor who was once accused of doing too many films one after another, he now holds a unique feat of delivering only one flop in his last eight releases!

"Yes, including Special 26, Akshay Kumar now has seven successes in two years after Patiala House. His only flop during this period has been Joker and every other film of his in the interim period has made money", informs a veteran trade source.

This can be witnessed from the fact that post Patiala House, he has already enjoyed two blockbusters in the form of Rowdy Rathore and OMG! Oh My God. While Housefull 2 has been super hit, Khiladi 786 was an above average affair. On the other hand, even Thank You and Desi Boyz both of which released after Patiala House, ended up being coverage affair as well.

"This is a huge comeback from the days of Tees Maar Khan and Action Replayy when fingers were being pointed at his stardom. However, with Akshay's films collecting over 400 crores last year, the highest that any actor has ever scored in a single year, and 2013 starting well too with Special 26, there are reasons to rejoice for the industry. He is the only actor who is continuing to do 4-5 films a year and still bringing in audience time and again. Now with Special 26, he has seen very good critical acclaim coming his way as well. If this isn't versatility, what else is", questions a filmmaker who has also been his close associate.

With Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai 2, Boss and Thuppakki remake to release in the second half of the year and a couple of productions from Grazing Goat arriving as well, guess there is no stopping Akki.
