Popular prime time channel Star Plus, had earlier reportedly tied up with NGO, Goonj, to go out of their way to support the stricken people of the Uttarakhand tragedy. In their endeavour, the channel has announced that this year on Independence Day (August 15), there would be a seven hour marathon live event telecast to raise funds for the people of Uttarakhand.
Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan who will also be a part of the telecast was recently recording for the same. Posting an image of his recording session on facebook the megastar says, "Working late and recording for the tragedy at Uttarakhand, reciting poems for the Telethon on the 15th and coaxing people to come forward to help our bretheren who suffered the catastrophe … with Aadesh, with Shankar Ehsaan and Loy."
