Copyright case against Madhurs Fashion dismissed

Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…Madhur Bhandarkar's Fashion faced legal crisis when a woman named Seema Seth filed a complaint against Bhandarkar, writer Ajay Mongia and Ronnie Screwvala on the basis of copyright infringement. However, today, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Lokesh Kumar Sharma dismissed the case against Madhur and others after Seema repeatedly did not make an appearance in the court.

Seth filed a case claiming that Fashion's plot was stolen from a book without giving credit to the author. She was asked to appear before the court with evidence, almost a year ago to continue with further legal procedures but the complainant never made it. Also, Seth had filed charges against UTV Motion Pictures and later, sought Rs. 2.5 crores as compensation.
However, now all charges have been dropped.
