In a hearing today, two witnesses Muslim Sheikh and Munnu Khan, identified the actor telling the court that it was him they saw alighting from the driver's seat after the accident took place.

The case which was being tried earlier for negligence was revised last year on the charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder. Under these new charges, the case was re-investigated. As of now though no final judgment has been reached, but if convicted, unlike the earlier lesser charge of two years imprisonment, Khan will face a harsher sentence.

For the uninitiated, in September 2002, Khan was allegedly driving a Toyota Land Cruiser that ran over a group of people sleeping on the pavement outside a bakery in suburban Bandra. In the accident one person was killed and four others were injured.
