Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…After five years of completion, Rang Rasiya finally got a green signal for its release and the film will hit the silver screen during the festive season of Diwali. The Randeep Hooda starrer that has Nandana Sen playing the leading lady and it was caught in a controversy owing to bold sexual content and nudity. Nandana who is currently happily married to the business tycoon John Makinson and settled in New York has taken an NOC (No Objection Certificate) from the makers of the film, stating that they will not release any publicity material of the film without her consent.
When Rang Rasiya was slated to release years ago, Nandana Sen then had stated that she was fine with the bold content and nudity and had maintained that the portrayal of a woman is very aesthetic in this film and represents the power of womanhood and not vulgarity that is demeaning to the image of a female. Rang Rasiya is based on the 19th Century passionate love story between the Indian painter Raja Ravi and his muse Sugandha Bai.
Producer Jayantilal Gada who revealed about Nandana Sen's NOC even stated that they will not be able to promote the film until Nandana Sen returns to Mumbai. He maintained that they cannot filter the publicity material without her approval and hence it is very important for her to be present during all promotional events.
Directed by Ketan Mehta, the period romance Rang Rasiya stars Randeep Hooda who will be playing the role of Raja Ravi.
Rang Rasiya will be facing a tough competition during the occasion of Diwali, since its release will be clashing with the Farah Khan directorial Happy New Year that stars Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood, Jackie Shroff, Vivaan Shah among others.
