USA: Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…Inspired by the infamous case of Naval officer K. M. Nanavati, Soni Razdan recently announced her directorial titled Love Affair. And now we hear that the actress turned director has taken Chandan Roy Sanyal on board to play the role of lawyer Ram Jethmalani.
Ram Jethmalani who was the Special Public Prosecutor in this 1959 case has been a source of information for the filmmaker as he has helped them with many anecdotes. However, Jethmalani maintained that he will not be interfering with the creativity of the film and will not trespass into areas of creativity. He also clearly mentioned that even though he isn't sure whether Chandan will do justice to his role, he will not object to his portrayal in the film.
The idea of roping in Chandan Roy Sanyal was that of producer Pooja Bhatt. Pooja stated that she considers Chandan to be a terrific actor and he will be perfect for the role of a lawyer. However, the actor will be named as Ram Jaisinghani in the film.
The Nanavati Case revolved around a crime of passion where the Naval officer Nanavati brutally murdered his wife's lover. While the case became a topic of media debate, the case was surrounded by the dilemma of whether the crime was committed in a fit of rage or was it a well planned cold blooded murder.
Based on true incidents, Love Affair is said to star Gulshan Devaiah who played the negative role in Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram Leela. Gulshan will be essaying the role of K M Nanavati. Though rumours have it that Arjun Rampal will play the role of Prem Ahuja (the victim), the details of rest of the cast are yet to be finalized.
