Ajay Devgn's debut directorial and much ambitious project Shivaay has been postponed which has given way to other big commercial films that the actor was supposed to lead – Drishyam remake to be directed by Nishikant Kamat and Milan Luthria's Baadshaho.

Though the unit of Shivaay had already taken off to Canada for a brief recee and to complete the initial stages of production, it was the weather which played a spoil sport. Apparently, we hear that Ajay Devgn had picturised a certain kind of snowfall in mind for the film but he was upset when things didn't turn out the way he planned and hence decided to postpone the shoot to October and the crew will soon be back in town. In order to utilize this eight month gap, Ajay decided to give a nod to start other projects that he had signed. Says Abhishek Pathak, Managing Director Panorama Studios, "We always believe in high quality cinema & entertainment. Our past ventures like Omkara, Special 26, Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge were high on content and so will be Drishyam."

Adds Ajit Andhare, COO Viacom18 Motion Pictures, "Drishyam is an iconic film that keeps you intrigued long after you have watched it. Its box office record in South is stellar with lead role essayed by legends like Mohanlal and Kamal Hassan. VMP shares a special bond with Ajay, through our last film Son of Sardar. With Drishyam we are bringing strong content and top acting prowess together and we are looking to set a new record for the studio with this film that will be our tent pole for 2015."

On the other hand, Ajay Devgn who is collaborating with Milan Luthria for Baadshaho, will start shooting for the same by September and it is likely to release in the first half of 2016.
