The FIR which was filed against the actor and his co-stars at a local police station in Rajasthan in 1998 stated that the actor and his friends had hunted down three chinkaras in Jodhpur, due to which they were arrested on the charges of harming animals.

The case which has been in the Rajasthan court for over a decade, was to arrive on a verdict today, February 25, but has now been delayed owing to a nine year old plea. According to Salman Khan's lawyers, they had filed four applications to bring in a few witnesses in 2006 which was left pending by the court. But now, the court has decided to look into the same because of which the verdict has been shifted to March 3. Moreover, during the proceedings today, the actor has even filed an application asking the court to exempt him from appearing in the court owing to his film commitments.

Though initially the case filed against the actor was only for harming animals, later, the actor and his friends were accused of owning illegal arms since their weapons had past their expiry date. However, the lawyers of the actor had a different version and claimed that Salman Khan had applied for a license renewal for the same.

For now, Salman Khan has some of the biggest Bollywood projects in hand which includes Sooraj Barjatya's Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Kabir Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Karan Johar's Shuddhi, and a sequel to Sajid Nadiadwala's Kick and has been completing the shoot schedule of these films.
