USA: Free $30 Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…If there's one man whom the Bollywood filmmakers will be thanking soon, it will be none other than Mumbai's Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria, who has now promised to streamline the process of obtaining permits with a single window. With the functioning of this facility, the filmmakers won't have to face any harassment during the shoots.

What had happened was that, Ritesh Sidhwani, who is making Three Stories (a co-production with Hollywood studio Relativity Media), was discussing the shooting locations with his team, they 'discovered' that shooting in Mumbai was expensive and taxing because of the existing red tapism. On top of that, despite having sought all the required permissions, the possibility of a police van coming on the sets for checking papers and threatening to stop the shoot could not be ruled out. That's when he called up Rakesh Maria and told him about the prevailing situations with a mention that shooting in the city can only boost tourism. Speaking about this, Ritesh said that, Maria immediately agreed to meet them (his team) and assured him of all the required support. He added that, Maria assured severe action will be taken against anyone who tries to disrupt the shoot and also harass the unit. Besides all this, Maria also promised to have a single-window system to make the process of getting permissions, easier and quicker.

Rakesh Maria, on his part, very clearly said that a month before the shoot, the filmmakers need to come to the Police Headquarters and apply for permission to 'Mumbai Police Theatre Branch'. The said application will then be forwarded to the Traffic Police and also to the local police stations (of the planned shooting locations). He added that, once they get the NOCs, no policeman will interfere with their work.

An extremely happy and satisfied Ritesh Sidhwani, alongwith a handful of filmmakers, are now planning to meet Maria so that they can make him understand their concerns so that it will benefit Bollywood.
