Of late, Katrina Kaif has been going really slow on her career front. In the past one year she signed only one film, and that was Fitoor with Abhishek Kapoor.
Katrina has now officially given the nod to one more project which is debutant director Nitya Mehra's untitled love story. This is only the second occasion in her 12-year career when Katrina would be working with a debutant director.
Says a source, "Katrina Kaif is very particular about banners and directors. If she agreed to work with new directors Ali Abbas Zafar in Mere Brother Ki Dulhan and now Nitya Mehra's film, it is because they are backed by the best production houses in Bollywood."
Interestingly, Katrina will be paired for the first time with Sidharth Malhotra in Nitya Mehra's film.
Confirming the project and casting Farhan Akhtar says, "We've cast Katrina and Sidharth in Nitya Mehra's film. Both the actors have very unusual roles in the film. It's important to try out new pairs and permutations, as these work to make audiences curious about a film."
Farhan, however, won't be playing a role in Nitya's film.
"She is extremely talented, and I'd love to work with her at some point of time. But right now my hands are full," says Farhan.
