Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…The decision to work on a war footing over the trailer of Bajirao Mastani was taken jointly by director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and his co-producers Eros International, as it was felt that no better platform for exposing the 3-minute teaser of Bajirao Mastani than Bajrangi Bhaijaan would be available.
Says a source close to development, "Although the release of Bajirao Mastani is a good 5 months away, everyone connected with the project felt Bajrangi Bhaijaan would be the best possible platform for the Bajirao Mastani trailer."
Surprisingly Salman Khan who has been on the war- path with SLB, had no objection to the trailer. Says a source, "Since Salman Khan is a co-producer of Bajrangi Bhaijaan along with Eros, he could have easily objected and the idea of attaching the Bajirao Mastani trailer would have been vetoed. But he was okay with it."
However, till Tuesday night it wasn't clear if the Bajirao Mastani trailer would finally be allowed to be attached to Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
Says a source from Eros International, "The team believes Bajirao Mastani is bigger than anything India has seen. It's part of the marketing strategy to showcase India's first global film. Hence we are beginning the campaign 6 months in advance, as is the norm for major Hollywood big-ticket releases."
