USA: Free $30 Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…Raveena Tandon was stunned to wake up on Sunday morning with a barrage of condolence messages from friends and well-wishers. It took her a while to figure out what the confusion was all about.

The online edition of a leading newspaper in Mumbai took fantasy reportage to an all-new level on Sunday morning when it published a report in its popular entertainment supplement headlined 'Raveena Tandon Bereaved'. It went on to state that Raveena lost her mother "yesterday" and that "close friends of the Tandons rushed to offer condolences."

Fuming in rage, Raveena Tandon says, "No such thing has happened. My mother is hale and hearty and by God's grace she has many more years to live. The closest she came to a health issue on Saturday when she's supposed to have–God forbid!– died is when she had to take her dog to a vet."

Interestingly, the journalist who edits the supplement, and who wrote the piece, rang up Raveena to condole on Saturday.

"I told her it was not true and still the 'news' was used. They managed to pull it out of the print edition. But the damage is done. The item is very much there in the e-paper edition of the entertainment supplement," says Raveena.

She wants to know if entertainment journalism has come to this. "We've had false death news about celebrities on twitter. Now they're killing relatives of celebrities in mass-circulated newspapers. Guys, have a heart. Death is not a matter to gossip about. It concerns lives."
