We all know A R Rahman as a very reserved and soft spoken person; however the ace musician is pretty active on social networking sites. In fact Rahman recently posted about a chance encounter he had with a living legend. Posting an image of his along with the football legend Pele, Rahman simply posted, "With the awesome Pelé in Calcutta…!"
Later on twitter Rahman seemed more vocal saying, "Excited to meet Pelé this evening in Kolkata!" Later adding another image this time featuring politician Mamta Banerjee, ex-Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly and Pele, Rahman posted, "With the CM of West Bengal, The Prince of Kolkata & The King of Soccer". Pele, who complete 75 on October 23 was felicitated in Kolkata by the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, even cut a birthday cake in the shape of the Jules Rimet trophy that Brazil permanently won by triumphing in the 1970 World Cup."
Tweeting about the event Mamta Banerjee added, "The legend Pele is in Kolkata after 38 long years. We are indeed very happy to have him with us on the eve of Durga Puja, our biggest festival. Today Pele took part in a programme at Netaji Indoor Stadium with our Sourav Ganguly, music maestro A R Rahman and many other distinguished personalities. I was present on the occasion. Football pulsates us, thrills us. And Pele is an incredible icon in the world of football and sports. We are very very proud of him. My heartiest greetings and best wishes to Pele and to all the football fans all over the world."
