USA: Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…The cast of Tony D'Souza's Azhar, the bio-pic on cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin, has just got more interesting. Last year's Bigg Boss winner Gautam Gulati is now on board playing Azhar's colleague, friend and adversary cricketer Ravi Shastri.
Says a source from the film's core unit, "We needed someone relatively new and more importantly, we needed someone who could play cricket well. Gautam fitted the bill. He has not been seen on the big screen. And he's a good cricketer, so we don't need to spend time training him for the field."
Gulati's role is crucial to the Mohammad Azharuddin saga as the two were close friends especially at the time when Azhar went through the match-fixing scandal.
Besides Emraan Hashmi and Gautam Gulati, playing Azharuddin and Shastri, the film features Prachi Desai and Nargis Fakhri as Azhar's two wives Naureen and Sangeeta Bijlani.
