USA: Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…Filmmakers and celebrities at times seem to be embroiled in various run-ins with the law. The latest is that an FIR has been lodged against veteran filmmaker Rahul Rawail and his son for trespassing, intent to insult the modesty of a woman and for intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace.
This came after Thiya D'Souza, a resident at Vaz Bungalow and incidentally Rawail's neighbour alleged Rawail of stealing her dog, threatening and abusing her after forcibly entering her property. Further adding to a written complaint filed by Thiya a week ago, she also claims that on October 10, at 2.30 am Rawail and his son barged into Thiya's apartment when she was with two friends to fight with her for throwing garbage outside her window which landed on his air-condition duct. Despite her initial refusal to open the door Rawail and his son continued to bang it, post which she decided to confront the filmmaker. However once inside, Rawail allegedly abused Thiya with foul language and insulted her for feeding and nursing stray dogs in the society.
Rahul Rawail, who is known for launching the careers of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Kajol and Sunny Deol, has since been booked under Sections 452 IPC for trespassing, 509 IPC for intent to insult the modesty of a woman and 504 IPC for intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace.
On the other hand, defending himself and his actions Rawail accused Thiya of feeding and sheltering a stray dog in the society premises and asked his driver to discreetly remove the dog. The Bandra police are currently investigating the case.
