USA: Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…Earlier this year, videos of Sonu Nigam doing an impromptu in the flight went viral on social networking sites. In fact, Sonu Nigam, who was on a flight from Mumbai to Jodhpur, obliged the passengers on the aircraft after they requested the singer for a show.
However a month after the incident the flight crew of the Jet Airways aircraft have been suspended for letting Nigam use the public announcement system on the plane for his concert. In a statement by the civil aviation regulatory authority the DGCA, requested the airliner to suspend the cabin crew for 'corrective training'.
Responding to this suspension Sonu supported the crew saying, "I have witnessed an elaborate fashion show in an aircraft. I have heard of small concerts happening in an aircraft. I have seen Pilots and Crew Members cracking humorous jokes to loosen up passengers in other countries, which is so cool. To suspend crew members for asking me to sing on the address system, when the seat belt signs were off, and no announcements were to be made, is nothing less than punishing someone for spreading happiness. Pity there's no one to question such harshness except the media perhaps. Indians, needs to loosen up. This act of lack of Common Sense, according to me, is Real Intolerance."
