USA: Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…13th July 2012 – This was the day when Cocktail released and elevated the status of its leading lady Deepika Padukone to a different level altogether. This isn't all as it also marked the arrival of another talented girl- Diana Penty.
15th July 2016 – Exactly four years after Cocktail, Diana would be returning to the big screen again. The film in question? Happy Bhaag Jaayegi.
"This is as uncanny as it gets," says an insider, "You can't plan such things, they just happen. To have a film release in the same weekend after a four year gap is a happy coincidence though. For those who are superstitious around when their films hit the screens, it is a bonanza no less to arrive in a similar zone when you first burst into the scene, and successfully so."
As a matter of fact, Diana Penty is one of the few leading ladies who has actually been missed a lot ever since her debut. Unlike some of her peers and contemporaries who have come and gone without making much of a noise, Diana has always managed to create some kind of an intrigue around her (lack of) presence in the Hindi film circuit.
"Not anymore though as the shooting of Happy Bhaag Jaayegi is set to conclude in quick time now," says a source attached to the film, "As the name suggests, the film is a happy affair by all means. Since it is produced by Aanand L. Rai and Krishika Lulla, you can well be sure of the kind of aesthetics that the film carries. Yes, Mudassar Aziz is directing the film and Aanand trusts him to do the job. However, as a creative person, you can well expect a distinct Aanand touch to the film."
Not to mention the soft corner that Krishika has for Diana, considering the fact that it was in her production Cocktail that the young woman had first burst into the scene. This reunion of the producer and the actress is much awaited as well on 15th July once the film hits the screens.
Starring Abhay Deol as the leading man, Happy Bhaag Jaayegi also features Ali Fazal, Momal Sheikh and Jimmy Shergill in principle roles.
