The said scene was being shot at the renowned location of Bhindi Bazar wherein they had to bring the shoot to an abrupt halt.

According to a source from set, the makers were shooting for an important sequence of Darshan Kumar who is playing the role of Awaiz Sheikh, Sarbjit's lawyer in the film. The scene required placards that mentioned anti national quotes in Urdu. A group of locals unexpectedly came out after seeing those placards and created a major fiasco as they thought it to be real agitation towards the nation and immediately informed the police. They even went out and filed a complaint against the makers due to which the film's executive producer, Zafar Mehdi was put behind the bars for more than 2 hours and the shoot came to a halt.

The drama, however, ended after the director of film, Omung Kumar and actor Darshan Kumar stepped ahead and requested the authorities to release their EP by providing them with valid permission documents.

Commenting about it director Omung Kumar said, "Yes its true our shoot was stopped at Bhindi Bazaar as the locals took our shoot as real agitation and informed the police. But we got to resume our shoot after a few hours as we had all permissions in order. Can't really blame the locals though as who wouldn't take more than a 100 angry people shouting loud slogans on a busy morning seriously. Rest of the shoot went smoothly."
