USA: Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…There was trepidation regarding the atmospheric pressure on the sets of Vishal Bhardwaj's Rangoon, what with the two leading men Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan sharing a past.
For those who came in late. Shahid was in a relationship with Kareena Kapoor before she fell in love with and married Saif and became a Khan .
Understandably one expected sparks to fly between the two….errrr….rivals. Producer Sajid Nadiadwala had warned director Vishal Bhardwaj on the pitfalls of casting Kareena's past and present together. But Vishal who had worked wonders with both actors in the past was adamant.
And Vishal's faith proved legitimate.
Says a source from location, "There is no rivalry between Saif and Shahid. Initially when they started together they were polite and aloof to one another. As the shooting progressed they discovered many common interests. The two actors began to have earnest conversations between shots. Shahid would stroll into Saif's van to have lunch with him. Saif would bring a book to the sets that he wanted Shahid to read."
This is not to say that the two have become inseparable buddies. Just two mature adult professionals who have learnt not to carry their past baggage to work.
