Now, taking it further is director Rajashree Ojha who plans to make a film on Kashmiri band Pragaash.

Though Ojha was all set to kick start the recee for the film soon, faced a delay owing to the tension in Kashmir. However, now we hear that Alia Bhatt has been approached to play the lead vocalist along with a Kashmiri girl and a Pakistani actress playing the other two members of the band. Apart from Alia, it is also being said that Shabana Azmi is a part of the film as she will be portraying the role inspired by pro-Pakistani separatist Asiya Andrabi.

For the uninitiated, Pragaash is an all-girls rock band started by three Muslim girls namely Noma Nazir, lead guitarist and vocalist, drummer Farah Deeba and Aneeqa Khalid on the bass guitar in 2012. However, they faced severe resistance not only from their conventional society but also received death as well as rape threats on social media. They were accused of breaking the Islamic code by certain scholars followed by which Mufti Bashiruddin Ahmad, state's cleric continued to criticize the girls for 'indecent behaviour' and promoting music which he claimed was harmful to the society. However, the fight of the girls continued as they received support from police as well as globally online.
