On Thursday, November 10, 2011, police arrested a man in connection with a sexual assault investigation.
It is alleged that:
– on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at 11 p.m., a woman was walking in downtown Toronto when she was approached by a man in a blue two-door car
– the man offered the woman a ride and, after she accepted, he spoke about going back to his place
– when she refused and attempted to leave his car, the man produced a large knife and then sexually assaulted her
Ahmad Suleman Ghanchi, 22, of Toronto, has been charged with:
1) Sexual Assault with a weapon
2) Assault
He was scheduled to appear in court at College Park, on Wednesday, November 16, 2011, courtroom 501, at 10 a.m.
Police believe there may be other victims.
