The University of Bonn has posted eight years of archives of the humor magazine al-Fukaha, published in Egypt by Dar al-Hilal:

"Al-Fukaha" which means "humour" or "joke" is one of the most amazing satirical weekly of its time. Under the publishing company Dar al-Hilal 7 volumes with 369 issues in total were edited. All of them are now available at ?https://t.co/57b7yFXKPX pic.twitter.com/i31wraEVrM

The university is presumably using the cover of the December 29, 1926 issue rather than the cover of the first issue posted — from December 1, 1926 — as that one bases its humor on racist imagery. Although many of the jokes no longer do the work of sparking laughter, the archives are still interesting for all sorts of reasons.

Humor Mag Al-Fukaha,
