During the Twelve Community Days campaign, Toronto FC players, coaches, staff, community members and organizations have come together for the purpose of recognizing and supporting important initiatives and efforts in and around our city. The Toronto FC Twelve Community Days campaign kicked off with the entire first team attending the unveiling of the newly refurbished soccer pitch at Sorauren Park funded by the MLSE Team Up Foundation, Toronto FC’s Corporate Partner Kia Canada Inc. and Toronto’s Parks, Forestry and Recreation department. Following the unveil, Toronto FC players conducted a soccer clinic for 40 youth from the Sorauren Park Association.
Other activities this past week included the launch of Toronto FC’s "Community Hero" initiative, a visit to The Stop and providing two local youth teams with "The Best Game Ever."
Toronto FC surprised the Rexdale Rebels and Serbian White Eagles with "the Best Game Ever" when they treated the youths to the ‘major league’ experience at their match this past Wednesday. The players were provided with personalized Toronto FC jerseys and the match was run like a Toronto FC game, complete with opening ceremonies, a video board, in-game entertainment and fans.
