Canada’s Zameer fastest growing artist on social music sites

Recently dubbed by Billboard Music as the #1 fastest growing artist on social mediaduring the week of March 17^th, 2012, Canada’s Zameer was predicted to likely achieve success based on activity on a wide range of social media and music outlets. Measured by Next Big Sound, a data tracking and monitoring website for musical artists’ behaviour both online and off, Zameer’s social media movement has ranked him as the fastest accelerating artist across the internet most like to become the “next big sound”.
 

Securing his first Billboard Hot 100 Hit and Billboard magazine feature, Zameer’s first album, from under the bleachers established him as an up-and-coming Canadian talent to be looked out for. It features the hit single Win or Defeat, the recognized theme song of the 2010 Vancouver Paralympic Games.
 

In 2006, he was nominated for the Best Independent Artistaward at the Toronto Independent Music Awards. He has been profiled on Much Music, OMNI Television and CBC Radio, as part of his work with Sing for South Asia, a benefit concert to heighten awareness about the earthquake stricken region of Kashmir. 

 

Recently, Zameer was chosen as a showcasing artist for Rogers MusicStore Canadian Music Week 2008 (CMW). He was the winner of a competition held by CMW, in conjunction with OurStage.com that awarded him an opportunity to perform at the event. Zameer was handpicked from over 1,300 applicants by both public voting and judging by industry professionals.
