British Asian Artist, Avina Shah was invited to perform at the Asian Women of Achievements Awards that took place at the Hilton Hotel Park Lane on 16th May 2012.

Kiran Sharma, Prince's manager, owner and Managing Director of artist management and booking agency KIKIT Entertainment, which works with a host of international stars, including; Nicole Scherzinger, Annie Lennox and Bryan Ferry organised for Avina to be part of the awards after hearing about her debut single ‘Tere Bina’.

Kiran Sharma had been nominated and shortlisted for Entrepreneur of the Year award.

Avina released her single ‘Tere Bina’ (Without You) in 2010 to raise awareness on the delicate issue of domestic violence. The song tells a story of a young woman who finally decided to walk away from a really violent and abusive relationship whilst demonstrating a strong message to all women about empowerment.

The Asian Women of Achievement Awards, co-founded by Pinky Lilani OBE in 1999, were conceived to celebrate the often unsung Asian heroines of British life. Such women make a huge contribution in fields as diverse as business, entrepreneurship and social and humanitarian work. These awards are their moment in the spotlight…. Pinky Lilani was honored and congratulated Avina for entertaining attendees on the evening.

Guests at the awards included: patrons Cherie Blair and HRH Princess Badiya bint El Hassan, MP Tessa Jowell and judging panel chaired by Sir Nicholas Young together with another 500 guests.

Avina Shah continues her charity work later this year together with managing company, Eastern Illusion and colleagues who are set to Skydive in support of Southall Black Sisters Charity.
