Call for Nominations – ICCC Recognizes Outstanding Achievements of Indo-Canadians

2011 Awards Gala gets big boost with conclusion of Global Indian Diaspora Conference

Toronto, February 22: Since 1992, the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce (ICCC) has recognized outstanding achievements of Indo-Canadians in 11 award categories. Nine award winners are selected annually by an independent Advisory Board and are based on nominations received from the community. Two additional awards, the Member of the Year Award and the President’s Award are chosen by the ICCC Board of Directors and the President of the ICCC.

The ICCC is the oldest Indo-Canadian Diaspora organization that promotes bilateral relations between Canada and India and provides a National platform for Indo-Canadians to constructively engage in community building.

Last year, the ICCC facilitated over 100 events to further broaden its scope and socialize the many benefits of membership including a number of highly successful Open House events held across the country, monthly events geared towards young professionals, an annual Holiday Dinner & Dance, various industry events catering to the interests of ICCC members and the calendar’s most popular and prestigious event – the Annual Awards and Gala Night.

This year’s Annual Award winners will be recognized at the Chamber’s June Gala – a mix of pomp, pageantry and pelf and a coming together of the Indo-Canadian business community to exult in the achievements of its own. This year’s gala promises to be even more gleeful and global as it will be the culmination of the very first Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (Global Indian Diaspora Conference) being held in Canada on June 9-10 in Toronto.

The Annual Awards and Gala Night will take place on June 11 and will recognize Indo-Canadian contributions in the following categories:

Male Entrepreneur of the Year
Female Professional of the Year
Male Professional of the Year
Young Achiever for the Year
Technology Achievement
Corporate Executive for the Year
Humanitarian
Lifetime \ Outstanding Achievement
Member of the Year
President’s Award
