“Bangs are so easy to style,” said no one, ever. Sure, fringe may be the hairstyle du jour right now — mark our words: it is the new lob — but that doesn’t make the cut any easier to style on the daily, especially for newbies.

No matter what type of fringe you have, or are considering getting, this on-trend cut is notoriously high maintenance — and we’re not just talking about regular trims. Sorry to say, but get bangs and the days of tossing your hair into a low bun and running out the door for work in under two minutes are long gone — or at least require an additional step. And once you master your go-to look things get even worse, because it’s incredibly easy to fall into a slump, blowing out your bangs the same way every single day. What’s worse: giving up and resorting to a pinned-back look when you’re in a rush. But not anymore.

As former and current bang owners, we feel you, but our perspective started to change throughout fashion month after we spotted Sora Choi — an up-and-coming model whose bangs have already shape shifted a myriad of times on the runway. Choi has walked in over 20 shows — and counting! — and each was a lesson in the versatility of the new “It” style.

Whether you’re looking for new ways to get ’em out of your face, tips to mix up your style, or just some solid proof that they are versatile — just get the bangs already! — you’ve come to the right place. Click through our slideshow for 11 ways to wear bangs, all approved by the top hairstylists in the game.

Choi walked the catwalk in this braided creation at Antonio Berardi’s show. Although we love the messy fishtail braids running throughout Choi’s mid-lengths and ends, our favorite part of the look is the delicate French braid at the front of her head. It not only creates a gorgeous halo effect, but also holds her bangs in place.

Hairstylists at Fendi went for the classic shag —plus blunt bangs. To score the look, simply blowdry your hair and bangs smooth, but finish off the look with a generous layer of texturizing spray through just the back of hair.

Sure, tucking smoothed-out strands behind your ears (like seen here at Proenza Schouler) may seem like a small change, but look what a difference it makes compared to the previous slide.

Tip: Keep locks in place by securing two bobby pins behind ears to keep hair in place.

Want to spice things up? Opt for a simple hair accessory like the red headband Choi wore at Altuzarra.

Twenty out of the 52 models who walked down the runway at Versace’s show wore brightly-colored hair extensions — and Choi was one of them. The show’s hairstylist Guido Palau called upon colorist Josh Wood to create various extensions for the women. Then, once the pieces were secured, Palau gently bent the extensions with a flat iron to mimic the effect of natural hair.

Tip: You can fake the look by adding some bright pops of color to just the bottom half of your fringe using a hair chalk or spray.

We like to think of this look from J.W. Anderson as the best way to combat growing out your fringe — and a great option for days when you simply don’t want ’em. Grab some wax or gel (celeb hairstylist Adir Abergel swears by this affordable option), work it through your bangs, then hit ’em with the heat from a blowdryer to set the product. To finish, smooth your hair (yes, including your fringe) into a sleek low pony. Bangs? What bangs?

Choi’s bangs were even given the ’20s treatment with a slight finger wave at Simone Rocha.

If the phrase “business in the front, party in the back,” could be captured by a hairstyle this season, it would probably be this one. Hairstylists at Mary Katrantzou kept the front of Choi’s hair sleek and polished while leaving her ends airy, textured, and full of movement.

Tip: Blowdry wet hair with a bit of the gel from slide six before sweeping hair back and pinning behind the ears.

Most of the models at Moschino’s show wore bouffants with side-swept bangs. Choi’s though, were left blunt and straight.

What you’ll need to recreate these ’40s-inspired victory rolls from Bottega Veneta? Hair pins, hairspray, and a bit of patience.

Bangs not behaving? Take a cue from Dolce & Gabbana’s show and cover ’em up with a giant polar bear hoodie. It’s cute and functional! Okay fine, we’re kidding, but it does show just how great they look peeking out from under a beanie or scarf. (Day two hair inspo, anyone?)
