By now, we’ve put together a million gift guides for everyone under the sun: the BFFthe techiethe fashion fanaticthe boyfriend…even your idiot younger brother. After sifting through the endless options, we’ve pretty much got a handle on what’s worth giving and getting this year.

Even so, we asked a few of our editors to narrow it down to just a few gifts they’re coveting this year — a trying task if there ever was one. Boyfriends, girlfriends, family, friends…*ahem, ahem.*

1

Christene Barberich, editor-in-chief

Chambord For Bodum French Press in Gold — “I don’t really need a new French press, but this one in sleek, polished gold would be such a lovely sight every morning.”

Oscar de la Renta Beaded Tassel Earrings — “The moment I saw these totally beyond-OMG earrings, I thought: MINE.”
$345, available at Net-A-Porter

Madewell The Transport Rucksack — “As much as I crave a new handbag, a good sturdy backpack is all I can think about for all those morning walks over the Brooklyn Bridge.”
$248, available at Madewell.

National Geographic Subscription — “I’ve wanted a subscription to National Geographicsince I think I was 16. Maybe this year, my wish will come true!”
$15 for a year’s subscription, available at National Geographic

Suno Floral Pants — “I can most definitely see myself growing old (and crazy) in these glorious trousers.”
$596, available at Suno

2

Piera Gelardi, creative director

Ilia Lipstick In Wild Child — “A girlfriend let me use her Ilia lipstick the other day, and I was so obsessed with the texture, the color, and the staying power. It stains your lips in a really gorgeous way and it’s all organic so it’s not due to any creepy chemicals. Plus, I love the color name ‘Wild Child!'”
$24, available at Ilia

Madewell T-Strap Mini Wedges — “I’m way into red and burgundy shoes lately…such a fun way to punch up an outfit. These T-strap wedges would be super cute with cropped trousers or a minidress and a jaunty beret.”
$148, available at Madewell

The Wild Unknown Tarot Trio — “I know next to nothing about the Tarot, but this amazing card deck, guidebook, and poster by artist Kim Krans makes me want to get way deep into it (also, I can’t think of a cooler party trick). Buy them as a set or individually. I can’t wait to hang that super-rad poster in my office and bring on the mystical happiness it guarantees.”
$75 the set of three, available at The Wild Unknown

Joana Alvirez for Refinery29 Bill Cunningham Tee — “If no one buys this amazing Bill Cunningham T-shirt for me, that’s okay because I’m buying it for myself! The illustration is by one of my favorite R29 contribs, the super-talented Joana Alvirez.”
$25, available at R29 Shops

3

Connie Wang, global editor

Uniqlo Flannel Dress — “There’s something so weird about this flannel shirt that’s got a ‘flannel shirt tied around your waist’ built-in. Plus, it’s made with the coziest, softest fabric that makes you feel like you’re still in bed.”
$19.95 available at Uniqlo

Rikumo Polka Dot Chambray Bath Towel — “I understand that chambray isn’t necessarily the most absorbant material for towels to be made of, but these are awfully pretty.” $57, available atRikumo

Comme des Garçons Bright Star Pouch — “My bag is always a graveyard of receipts, business cards, gift cards, and bandages. This lil’ star pouch would keep things looking neat.”

Eastern Collective Cable — “I’ve upgraded from those white ear buds my iPhone came with, and I’m thinking it’s time to switch out the USB cable, as well.”
$17.95, available at Eastern Collective

4

Lisa Dionisio, production editor

Zara Small Metal Box Clutch — “My obsessionshopping fixation right now is clutches. This Zara one looks sleek and shiny…major holiday eye candy.”
$79.90, available at Zara

L.L. Bean Flannel Pajamas — “Come December 26, my plan is to live in these for a week. I’ll be upstate and camped out on my couch and computer — total lazy-girl style.”
$59, available at L.L. Bean

Polaroid Z2300 Digital Camera — “Confession: I love taking pictures, but I never actually do anything with them. This camera is awesome because not only can you instantly print your snaps, but you can edit the photos on the screen with cool borders and save it to an SD card, too.”
$159.99, available at BH Photo

Jin Soon Nail Polish — “This Jin Soon polish is amazing. I tried the navy Debonair shade before I left on my trip, and two weeks later, it’s still on my nails. I want more.”
$18 each, available at SpaceNK

5

Neha Gandhi, deputy editor

West Elm Cotton Canvas Window Panel — “I get that curtains aren’t a super-sexy gift, but my apartment is in need of something to cover the Venetian blinds it came with, which I’ve been living with for a year now. And I love the weight of these, particularly for the winter.”
$24 each, available at West Elm

ASOS Metallic Shoes — “I wear flats. Pretty much all the time (okay, all the time, except for black-tie gatherings). So, I like my shoes to be festive and fun — by way of shine and sparkle! I’m drawn to these metallic lace-ups like a magpie, and I see them working with pretty much every piece is my oh-so-neutral closet.”
$61.57, available at ASOS

Barbour Beadnell Jacket — “I need a new Barbour jacket, because mine is very old and starting to fray. I had thought I’d want to upgrade with one of the options from the Paul Smith collab, but really, it’s the classic jacket that has my heart.”
$369, available at North River

Ray-Ban Original Wayfarer — “Another no-brainer classic, but we’re having a very sunny, global-warming-y winter this year, and I need a new pair of sunnies to get through it. I borrowed my brother’s Ray-Bans recently, and was reminded of how much I love this reliable, so-flattering shape. Since stealing his would have felt wrong, I’m making this not-so-subtle request for them, here.”
$200, available at Ray-Ban

6

Jessica Teves, managing editor

Penn Championship Regular-Duty Tennis Balls — “Since I typically blow through several cans a week, this is one of those practical gifts that makes perfect sense for my life.”

$725, available at Jennifer Fisher

Murray’s Cheese Shop Season’s Eatings Set — “There’s not really much to say about this one. I love cheese, and the idea of trying out a new variety (especially a spoonable one!) makes me want to jump up and down with joy.”
$45, available at Murray’s

YSL Paloma Platform Sandal — “I’m in love with these stunning sandals. I trend toward very basic attire (jeans and white tanks or T-shirts), so bold accessories are my go-to for adding a little personality and fun.”
$1,195, available at YSL

7

Katie Hintz-Zambrano, West Coast senior editor

Claflin, Thayer, & Co. Baby Booties — “I’m having my first baby, a boy, in early April. And I already have a self-imposed ban on buying any more gear for him. It’s all just too cute and tempting! But I would be more than happy for someone to scoop up these incredibly over-the-top moccasins for me! You can even get the baby’s name and birth date embossed on the tongue of the shoe. Awwww.”
$65-$85, available at Claflin, Thayer, & Co. starting December 12, 2012.

Ashleigh Verrier ‘Tis The Season Happy New Years Cards — “I still have a million thank-you cards to send out for 2012. I think folks would be extra understanding if their belated notes came in the form of this gorgeous original watercolor, embellished with Swarovski, no?”
$25 for 6, available at Verrier Boutique

Jessica Winzelberg Stacked Stone Necklace — “Blue is my color, and pink is my birthstone (October), so this beautiful tourmaline and opal piece by S.F.-based jewelry designer Jessica Winzelberg is calling my name!”

Ideal Bookshelf 505: Fashion Print — “When it comes to magazines and fashion books, I am a total hoarder. But the ‘Ideal Bookshelf’ series of prints by artist Jane Mount helps me add to my collection, sans the clutter. Something my husband is very fond of.”
$60, available at 20×200

8

Kelsey Miller, SEO editor

MagicBullet NutriBullet — “I’m dying for a NutriBullet. I’ve watched the infomercial an unreasonable amount of times and have completely bought into the hype. I plan to spend the New Year hiding out in my kitchen, getting crazy with some chia seeds.”
$99, available at NutriBullet

Yves Delorme Cocon Counterpane Throw — “If I’m dreamin’ big, I’d love a matte velvet quilt, like these from Yves Delorme. (I bought something similar from Anthropologie many years ago, and they promptly discontinued the line.) I love the clean, feminine look of this velvet. It makes a great accent to a bedroom without being too ornate — plus, there is nothing cozier.”
$750, available at Gracious Home

Little Women Giclee Print — “I love that so many children’s book illustrations are available as prints now. Just looking at them is like jumping back into childhood, and back into the story. Art.com has a huge collection, and it’s only a matter of time before my apartment looks like it’s been decorated entirely by a 9-year-old — starting with this gorgeous print from Little Women.”
$29.99, available at Art.com

Krzysztof Kieslowski Collection — “I’m a Polish cinema nerd, so for me, there’s nothing better on a gray winter day than curling up with a stack of melancholic short films about Eastern European angst.”
$80.09, available at Amazon

SodaStream Genesis Seltzer Starter Kit — “Another item I can’t believe I haven’t already impulse-bought is the SodaStream. I’m a diet-soda fiend, but am more and more unsettled about the chemicals I’m chugging every day (not to mention the plastic waste I’m producing). I bought this for my mom last Christmas and have been trying to steal it from her ever since.”
$99.95, available at SodaStream

9

Leila Brillson, global news editor

Zara Studded Mini Bucket Bag — “Letting your bag be a pop of color is such an effortless way to liven up your outfit — and this Zara bag is an everyday cinch. And red is my hue du jour.”
$49.90, available at Zara

rag & bone Adirondack Sweater — “Imagine winter in this sweater. It wouldn’t actually bewinter though, because you would be so warm and cozy the entire time.”
$395, available at La Garçonne

$28, available at R29 Shops

Korg microKORG Synthesizer — “It’s really time for me to invest in a microKORG for all of my weird sound-making needs, and not to be entirely superficial, but this one is in red and black. Which makes it the coolest vocoder ever.”
$399, available at Musician’s Friend

Barbara Briones Beda Black Slipper — “These are such simple but striking shoes. It is a really unique take on the smoking slipper, a trend I hope never goes away.”
$259, available at Barbara Briones

$88, available at Need Supply

Madewell Sparkle Spike Necklace — “The holidays always call for a new piece of sparkle. This one is also spiky. It’s perfect.”
$65, available at Madewell

Loeffler Randall Rider Bag — “The mix of colors and touch of snakeskin instantly won me over in this bag from the Loeffler Randall resort collection. It’s the kind of bag I would wear every day, with everything, and never tire of. Admittedly, it’s a pretty generous present to ask for, but hey, if anyone is feeling especially super giving this year…”
$550, available at Loeffler Randall

11

Lexi Nisita, associate community editor

Karen Walker Knotted Jumpsuit — “Boy, would I be a star in this little number. It might look totally unseasonal at first glance, but I swear, I would wear it over a T-shirt and make it work for winter. Maybe paired with a blazer. Gotta live on the edge.”
$421.83, available at FarFetch

Withnail and I DVD — “This movie is…maybe the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen. Basically, it’s just two guys hanging out in their underwear complaining for about an hour and a half. A real mood booster!”
$14.99, available on Amazon

Moleskine 2013 Extra Large Soft Cover Weekly Planner — “This thing was my life when I was in school. For some reason, I thought I wouldn’t need it when I no longer had homework…but now I miss it more than ever. It’s kind of steep for a planner, but it’s the perfect format, and for some reason, I suddenly feel super professional and business-like whenever I carry it around.”
$21.95, available at Moleskine

Imported Nutella — “I know this sounds horribly pretentious, but I am telling you, Nutella is different in Europe. When I used to go with my parents, I would eat it by the spoonful; here, I’m not even interested. I’ve heard this site sells the real thing, but I haven’t tried it out yet…”
$4.99, available at Parthenon Foods

Palomarie Surya Cuff — “I will gladly accept anything from this designer. Or all of it. But if you’re making you pick, I’ll take this bracelet and permanently attach it to my arm.”

Equinox Membership — “Trying to get 2013 started off right…”
$151 a month (rates depend on location), available atEquinox
