Middle Ground: The Shoulder-Grazing Hairstyles We’re Loving Now

Sick of your long locks, but not ready to go all Karlieand chop your hair to your chin? We feel you. With spring right around the corner, it’s natural to crave some change, and what better way to freshen up your look than with a new, shorter (but not toodrastic) hairstyle?

In the same way that ditching your black wool coat for a light trench makes us feel like everything’s right in the world, losing a few inches of hair makes us breathe a little bit easier when the weather starts warming up. Right now, we’re especially inspired by the easy, medium-length cuts that celebs have been sporting lately — they have much of the versatility of long hair, but are faster and easier to style.

Whether your locks are straight, wavy, or super-curly, there’s a shoulder-grazing style that will work for you — scroll through to check out our favorite looks of the moment!

Vavoom! Nicole Richie recently ditched her grown-out locks for this sharp, shoulder-length ‘do — we love it styled into this sleek evening look.

This gently waved, middle-parted style suits Olivia Wilde’s gorgeous bone structure perfectly.

Breaking out of the wavy-bob mold, the gorgeous Annie Ilonzeh takes the look in a different direction by flaunting spiral curls, expertly cut into a flattering midlength shape.

As much as we dug Emma Watson’s adorable post-Harry Potter pixie cut, we think this style is the perfect middle ground (literally) between her short crop and her wild Hermione locks.

With her smoldering good looks, Olivia Munn could pull off any hairstyle on the planet, but we especially love her in this blunt, wavy long bob.

Not quite a “lob,” but not quite “long hair” either, Emma Roberts’ latest cut strikes the perfect balance and frames her face nicely.

We love how Jaime King wore her retro waves with a graphic tee and leather jacket. Very Betty Draper-at-CBGB, no?
