Long, flowing locks are always fun to gawk at, but we have to say that we are seriously loving the wave of short cuts that has broken through Hollywood recently. Proudly defying the starlet stereotype of glossy, Rapunzel-style locks, these famous ladies were brave enough to make the chop — and, dare we say, they’ve never looked better.

No matter what your hair type or face shape, there is a pixie style that will work for you (really). Take a look at these fresh crops, and let us know: Would you ever be bold enough to go seriously short?

It’s well established that Michelle Williams can do no wrong (well, except for letting Jason Segel go— we’re still hurting over that one), and the latest iteration of her pixie cut is proof. This deeply side-parted ‘do gives a whole new dimension to her short cut and frames her gorgeous face perfectly.

If you thought that only wispy-haired ladies could get in on the pixie fun, check out exhibit A: Viola Davis, with her lovely crown of natural coils. It’s lovely, feminine, and totally modern.

Love her or hate her, you have to admit that Anne Hathaway has been rocking the heck out of the growing-out phase of the pixie that she sported inLes Miserables. This iteration has to be our favorite yet; the softly sideswept bangs are sophisticated and playful all at once.

Attention, round-faced ladies! If you thought you couldn’t pull off short cuts with your face shape, look no further than the fierceness otherwise known as Ginnifer Goodwin. We love how her pixie shows off her feminine features while also adding sharpness and polish to her look. So gamine, no?

Halle Berry has rocked a beautiful, soft pixie for years, but her recent addition of warm highlights has really set her look on fire. We love how her spiky texture looks totally natural, like she simply ran her fingers through it.

You already know how obsessed we are with Charlize’s recently-bleached crop, but we just had to say it once again: No one pulls off this striking, boyish look like her. It’s a trulymasculin/femininlook that we think brings out Charlize’s strong beauty better than any long ‘do could.
