With a title like Pink, you expect a lively and youthful score for the film. That said, the film's promo has given an impression of a dark drama ahead. Hence, one waits to hear what an ensemble team of composers and lyricists have to offer with the soundtrack here.

MUSIC
As expected, it is a female who leads the show for Pink as Faiza Mujahid plays the triple role of composer, lyricist and singer here. While the music here is standard rock affair with the characteristic elements in place, the lyrics too are the kind that one associates with this genre. A song that aims at celebrating life, it doesn't really score too high on the singing department as Faiza sounds off-key at many junctions. Still, it is an energetic start to the album and hence one is hopeful of something even better from songs to follow.

Shantanu Moitra returns on the musical scene with 'Kaari Kaari' and brings a fusion approach to the proceedings. A pathos filled number written by Tanveer Ghazi, it is about being trapped into the world of darkness with no real hope in sight. Qurat Ul Ain Balouch (QB) is roped in as a singer here for this song which has a depressing feel to it right through and one wonders how it would play in the film's narrative.

Next to arrive is 'Tujhse Hi Hai Roshani' and this one has Anupam Roy playing the triple role of composer, lyricist and singer. This one actually turns out to be the best of the enterprise. Now this is ironical actually because in a film which has women as the central protagonists, there is no song so far from a female singer which makes a real impression. Coming to 'Tujhse Hi Hai Roshani', it has a sweet and simple vibe to it and brings on feel good appeal.

Finally arrives the title track 'Pink' which again has Anupam Roy as the composer. Written by Irshad Kamil, this one has Jonita Gandhi as lead singer and she makes a good impression right at the onset. A good song with EPR Iyer stepping in as the rapper, this one actually deserved to be right at the top of the soundtrack. Not that this one is a chartbuster material either. However, it still has a spunk attached to it which makes for a good musical experience.

OVERALL
The music of Pink is strictly situational and there too it doesn't really have anything memorable about it. Pink can be skipped.
