The ex-president of ANC-YL Julius Malema has openly opposed the decision of his ex-party ANC of expelling him on grounds of sowing divisions.

The party changed the decision of five years of suspension to expulsion on the basis of Malema not showing remorse over his activities in the meetings. Malema said, “I will die for what I believe in.”

Malema has 14 day’s time to file an appeal against the decision which he has previously said that he will do if a situation like this rose.

The situation got out of hands when countless supporters and critics appeared in front of his house, where his grandmother Sara also lives, and protested. The place turned into battle field in no time when small fights between the supporters and critics aggravated. Gun shots were heard and police had to come to evacuate the area.

The massive crowd was under control of the authorities by 3 am. Police had to use 17 cars to calm the roaring crowd. Rumors of some of the people getting hurt prevail however authorities have not been able to confirm if there were any.

Following the incident, a police car was stationed outside his house in Limpopo for security purposes. A security car of a private company was also present there for the rest of the night.
