NFP members die in KZN ambush

Two men have been announced dead whereas one woman is reported to be in critical condition at the hospital after their car was gunned in Msinga in the southern region of Dundee on Wednesday.

The announcement of the deaths was made by the Police Department of KwaZulu-Natal which said that those who lost their lives were members of the National Freedom Party (NFP). The spokesperson of the department of police Colonel Jay Naicker said, “The vehicle was ambushed while en route to Keate’s Drift.”

The national secretary general of NFP Professor Nhlanhla Khubisa said that the chairperson of the constituency of NFP in Msinga and a renowned businessman of the region Bongani Shelembe, and the youth secretary of NFP Zamo Zondi have lost their lives during the tragic incident of attack on their car on Wednesday. Another female member of the party who was also present in the car, Thulephi Mbatha, is seriously injured. He appealed the public to come forward and help them solve the case with the police if there is anyone who has any knowledge of the incident and can help police identify the shooter.

Police has not commented on the motive or the reason behind the attack and are still carrying out investigations.
