The committee chairman Thomas Wani told Gurtong that the team has been convened to mobilise resources for the construction of 260 kilometres of roads within the county.
“This is meant to boost the mobility of people as well as to curb insecurity in the county”, said Wani.
He added that each family head will contribute ten South Sudanese Pounds towards the 1,169,000 South Sudanese Pound roads demarcation and construction plan.
He explained that the exercise will commence this month, adding that the committee has drawn a strategy for the collection of contributions and issuing of receipts for transparency and accountability to the public.
The committee comprises seven members including Payam directors, head chiefs, executive chiefs and headmen as well as religious leaders.
Yei River County Commissioner Juma David urged the committee to utilize its mandate in supporting development of the area
