He says his wish is to make Eastern Equatoria the best place to live in and conduct business.

The Governor says he will prioritise five key development areas including security, good governance, food security, infrastructure and social services.

The Governor told Gurtong that with assistance of donors, the State Government has achieved a lot in terms of development.

“The State Peace and Reconciliation Committee is operational and so far seven peace and justice mmissions have been conducted to address insecurity issues such as child abduction, inter community conflicts  and border issues”, he said.

He added that security agencies have been continuously trained in efforts to enhance their service delivery to the state residents.

“We will empower the rule of law at the local level and stabilise the most conflict prone areas in the state as being key prerequisite for social and economic stability”, he affirmed.

Governor Lojore added that the state has adopted public financial management reforms that have streamlined payment procedures.

He said road construction in the state has accelerated development by opening remote areas.

Governor Lojore at the same time said his administration will continue fostering foster inclusive and participatory political leadership as well as promoting civic education in the state.

“We will do this by ensuring citizens’ participation in democratic processes including population census, popular consultation on permanent state constitution and elections among others”, he said.

He also revealed plans to boost agricultural production through improving infrastructure and provision of extension services to farmers.
