Ali Dalil Ibrahim says that about 10,000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) are in need of humanitarian aid assistance as a result of the recent air strikes in the area.

According to the MP, the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) carried out aerial bombardments in Timsa, Frika, Siri-Molanga and Boro – Madina in Raga County.

Ibrahim says that there is an increase in the number of refugees arriving from Sudan’s South Darfur due to government forces fighting the rebel groups.

The IDPs in the area are ethnic tribes of South Sudan who were evacuated from their homes within Raga County of Western Bahr el Ghazal state as result of Sudan government air raids in the area.

The MP is lobbying for the humanitarian aid group workers to assess the humanitarian situation in the area as people have no access to clean drinking water, shelter, food and medicines.

Ibrahim called on the UN agencies and other humanitarian organizations to respond to the situation before it gets worse.

Ibrahim said that he has forwarded his request for humanitarian assistance through the State Assembly to facilitate his concerns on the situation.
