Eastern Equatoria Assembly Supports The Sudan, South Sudan Oil Deal

In an interview with Gurtong, the Chairman of Information in the State Assembly Joseph Lokodo Colombos said that the State Assembly supported the decision and they are ready to work on implementing it once it is signed.

“We support the idea though we have not yet seen the document but we also support stable economic ties with the Republic of the Sudan,” said Lokodo.

The two nations recently reached an oil deal and are yet to resume negotiations to finalise on a comprehensive agreement on all the other outstanding issues.

A final agreement is expected to be signed in the coming month if the two sides agree.
