The celebrations were initially scheduled for the 18 August 2012 and President Salva Kiir Mayardit is expected to be the chief guest at Torit.
The preparation teams are working round the clock to ensure everything is well for the occasion.
The State Ministry of Roads and Transport is renovating the roads to ensure that traffic flow is smooth during the celebrations.
Torit was chosen to host the celebrations because the first liberation bullet was fired in Torit on the 18 August 1955.
The government therefore decided to celebrate heroes’ day in Torit to pay tribute to the Himodonge Heroes who were massacred and buried in a mass grave.
