Speaking to Gurtong, Akok appealed to the Minister of Information and Broadcasting to lobby and have international agencies train the reporters on their profession.

“The Radio and TV creates awareness on human rights and children’s right to education,” said Akok. 

The state community radio based in Kuacjok also airs hourly news and daily programmes on peace building among the communities.

Warrap State Radio on 99.6 FM covers 140 Kilometres will soon start Medium Wave transmission to reach most parts of the state.

According to Akok, the main challenge for the media has been language barrier as most people depend on Arabic language while the station is mainly broadcasting in English.
