Striking Nurses Resume Work In Wau

The hospital’s Director General Dr Marchello Gabriel told Gurtong about 18 nurses who went on strike last Tuesday have returned to their work station as they wait for the payment.

Last Tuesday, a group of 18 nurses staged a strike claiming that they had not received their July and August salaries a situation which had paralysed services at the hospital.

Wau Civil Hospital nurses salaries are paid for directly by the national government in Juba and the main cause for the delay could not be established.

The nurses resumed duties following consultations with the state government officials from the Ministry of Health which assured them that their salaries will be delivered soon.
