The government spokesperson Felix Otuduha confirmed that the theatre attendant, identified as Francis Olima was mistakenly killed by Atalibo Akaliho on Tueday evening after his departure from Torit to Lofi Village of Ikwoto County.
It is reported that the deceased had a motorcycle’s puncture and was mistaken to be an “enemy” where he was shot dead by one of the residents at Lolianga village.
Akaliho surrendered himself to the authorities after the incident and he is under police custody at Torit.
Otuduha appealed to the bereaved to family to be calm now that the killer has come out clear he has responsible.
Efforts by Gurtong to reach out to the family members of the late have not been successful as they are in the remote village.
